One of our newest Community Hour classes, Your Footprint On the World, had a busy, busy week learning about sustainability. On Tuesday, we discussed how buying products from local farms and farmers markets is one of the easiest ways to live sustainably. Our Garden Spot Vegetable Farm organic apples were used to make applesauce the old fashioned way, and unlike some apples in the store that travel thousands of miles, our apples only traveled 30 miles from Princeville to Glasford! By Thursday, we were ready to hop on the bus for a pop-up lesson on how local businesses provide us another way to live sustainably. We put our lessons into action, first stopping at Kroger to shop for discounted food that may otherwise end up in the dumpster, and then visiting a great local business, Big Mike’s Donuts & Coffee. We’ll use our groceries to enjoy a meal together, and we’ll continue to discuss the ways we can live sustainably.

Dear IB families,
The Illini Bluffs School District #327 will host our annual Veterans Day ceremony in the high school gymnasium on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM. All veterans, past and present, are encouraged to come and participate. Community members are also welcome to come and enjoy the ceremony.
We will serve a luncheon for veterans and their families after the ceremony. Due to limited seating space, lunch will be limited to 300 people on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you have a veteran in your family and would like your student(s) to eat lunch with them, please make a reservation by calling the Illini Bluffs District Office at (309) 389-2231, Option 4, or email Mrs. Lisa Webb at lwebb@ib327.com. Please include the name, military branch, timeframe of service for each veteran, name of guest(s), and any Illini Bluffs students joining you for lunch.
We are asking elementary students who are not eating lunch with a veteran, to bring a sack lunch and drink. Those students will be eating in their classrooms. If your child qualifies for a free/reduced lunch, please fill out the form provided by the elementary office. Middle school and high school students who are not eating lunch with a veteran, will receive the standard lunch options and eat in the high school commons.
On Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th, we will have an early dismissal time of 2:05 for elementary students and 2:15 PM for middle and high school students. Wednesday, November 9th, will be a 3:05/3:15 PM dismissal. Please send a note to the offices if the pick-up routine is different for your child(ren).
Thank you for your support of our veterans, and we look forward to honoring them on Veterans Day.
Please contact one of our respective offices if you have any additional questions or concerns,
- Mrs. Katrina Craven, IBES Principal
- Mr. Jeremy Ball, IBMS Principal
