At roughly 4:30 this afternoon, during scheduled maintenance, the Illini Bluffs administration was made aware of a concern regarding the water quality in our schools. As a result, the administrative team met with a team of individuals who worked collectively to address the issue. The team also received guidance from the Department of Health, medical professionals, and poison control to ensure our students, staff, and faculty were safe. During our discussions we also contacted Illinois American Water and were assured the water in the community was not affected. Student and staff safety is our top priority. A qualified agency will be conducting testing throughout the schools on Thursday, March 5, to ensure safe and useable water. A decision regarding after school activities Thursday, as well as school on Friday, will be made based on the results of water testing. If you have any questions, please contact the Illini Bluffs District office at (309) 389-2231.

We will make decisions regarding Thursday’s after-school activities tomorrow afternoon. This evening, after school hours and during scheduled maintenance, the school began experiencing a water issue.
